Eden Mills

Eden Mills is a small village in Lamoille County. The area is known for beautiful garnets that show up as deep red to orange crystals.
Many collectors visit this area because the garnets here are often clear and well-shaped. You can find them in metamorphosed skarn zones. The garnets usually appear alongside other minerals like diopside.
What makes Eden Mills special is that its garnets are often of the grossular variety. This type is valued by collectors for its quality and color range.
The geological history of Eden Mills involves ancient oceanic crust and mantle materials that were pushed onto continental crust millions of years ago. This unusual history created the perfect conditions for these special garnets to form.
Belvidere Mountain

Belvidere Mountain sits between the towns of Eden and Lowell. It rises about 3,340 feet and has become famous for its unique rock formations. The mountain contains a mix of metamorphic and ultramafic rocks that formed through complex geological processes millions of years ago.

Rock River
